Tour Itinerary:
Day 01: Chandigarh to Shimla
Arrive at Chandigarh Railway Station and enjoy the scenic drive to Shimla. The hilly drive takes around 4 hours. Reach Shimla by the evening and be free to explore the most popular and busy Mall Road, with its wonderful views, British architecture, a number of shops, cosy restaurants and a lively environment. Have a pleasant overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02: Shimla to Sarahan
After a hearty breakfast, check-out from your hotel and drive to Sarahan. On the way, visit Kufri, Narkanda and Rampur, for wonderful views of the valley and the River Satlej. Enjoy a pleasant overnight stay at the hotel in Sarahan.
Day 3: Sarahan to Sangla (90 km/ 3–4 hrs)
After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and enjoy the lovely drive to Sangla. Upon arrival at Sangla, check-in at the hotel and enjoy comfortable overnight stay.
Day 04: Sangla - Chhitku - Sangla (40 km/3 hrs)
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, explore sights like the ancient Kamru Fort & Temple dedicated to the Goddess Kamakhya Devi, which was brought from Assam and Nages God. After a delicious lunch, set out for an excursion to Chitkul, the last village on the Old Indo – Tibetan Trade Route. Walk through the green orchards and the brilliant stream, and admire the natural beauty. Return to Sangla for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05: Sangla to Kalpa (49 km/4 hrs)
After a delicious breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Kalpa – District Headquarter of Kinnaur and once a favourite haunt of Lord Dalhousie. Arrive at Kalpa, after a picturesque 4-hour drive and check-in to your hotel. Kalpa was known as Chini back in the days when it was the regional capital. For the last 500 years, Kalpa has changed little, retaining its old charm and beauty.
It is said that whenever Lord Dalhousie wanted to take a break from his hectic schedule in Shimla, he would come to this scenic land on horseback. Almost every corner of Kalpa faces the Jorkanden and the Kinner Kailash peaks, considered one of the mythical homes of Lord Shiva. By its side is a 79-foot rock formation that resembles a shivlinga that changes the colour as the day passes, and on a clear day is visible to the naked eye. After lunch, you may rest at the hotel. In the evening, visit the serene Buddhist Gompa – Hu Bu Lan Kar. Enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06: Kalpa to Shimla
After a delicious breakfast, check-out from your hotel and enjoy the drive back to Shimla for a pleasant overnight hotel stay.
Day 07: Shimla to Chandigarh
After a hearty breakfast, check-out from your hotel and drive to Chandigarh. Hope you had a pleasant trip and enjoyed the retreat to Himachal Pradesh.
