Tour Itinerary:
Day 01: Chennai
Arrive Chennai, the gateway of South India. You will be met by our Tour Manager and transferred to the hotel to relax.
Half a day sightseeing of Chennai. Visit Government Museum, Fort St.George, Fort Museum, St Mary’s Church, San Thome Cathedral, Kapaleswara temple, drive past the Marina beach and a bit of shopping, if you are interested.
Overnight at Chennai.
Day 02: Mahablipuram
Breakfast at Hotel.
Today you will visit Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram.
In the evening explore the sunny beach.
Ovenight at Mahabalipuram.
Day 03: Pondicherry
Breakfast at Hotel. Drive to Pondicherry, the French Town.
Proceed for a sightseeing of Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, Paper Industry, Government Museum, Chunambar Boat House - where facilities for boating, canoeing are available The backwaters and luxuriant greenery on both sides of the river provide an idyllic setting for boating. Later in the evening relax in the beach that runs along the city.
Overnight at Pondicherry.
Day 04: Tanjore
Drive to Tanjore. Later proceed for sightseeing of Big temple,the Palace, and the ancient Saraswathi Mahal Library.
Overnight at Tanjore.
Day 05: Trichy
Breakfast at Hotel and drive to Trichy. It is a fine blend of temples and monuments and one of the largest city. Visit the Rock fort temple and Srirangam temple.
Overnight at Trichy.
Day 06: Madurai
Breakfast at Hotel and proceed to Madurai - a rich cultural heritage centre.
Full day sightseeing of Madurai. Visit 1000 pillared Meenakshiamman temple, Tirumalai Nayak’s Palace, Gandhi Museum, Alagarkoil, Koodal azhagar temple. Overnight at Madurai.
Day 07: Madurai / Ooty
Ooty is situated in Western Ghats, very cool and green hills. You can visit the vegetable market in Karamadai on the way and take the Nilgiri Mountain Railway for part of the journey from Coonoor to Ooty. You can enjoy a boat ride at the Lake.
Day 08: Ooty
Full day excursion to Ooty and Coonoor.
Day 09: Ooty / Wayanad
Drive to Wayanad. One of the most beautiful hilly regions of Kerala and is the home of several sects of tribals, who have built some shrine s for the village deities. Visit Edakkal Caves - caves contain several paintings and pictorial writings of the New Stone Age Civilization, Muthunga wildlife sanctuary - Herds of elephants, bear, deer, wild pig etc can be seen here, Glass temple – famous Jain family temple.
Day 10: Wayanad / Nagarhole
90 kms southwest of Mysore lies Nagarhole National park, which claims populations of tiger, leopard and elephant as well as over 250 species of birds. Visit the park by jeep, on elephant back and in a coracle. Stay two nights at the Kabini river Lodge or at water Woods a small six bedroom bungalow, beautifully appointed, and situated ont hebanks of the Kabini river.
As an alternative to Nagarhole National Park, anglers may wish to consider staying at the Cauvery fishing camp on the banks of the Cauvery River at Bheemeshwari, which is noted for its mahseer fishing (best season November to June). The mahseer is considered to be one of the finest game fish in the world. Accommodation is in spacious, well furnished “ethnic log huts.” The Cauvery fishing Camp is situated 100 kms from Bangalore and 85 kms from Mysore.
Day 11: Nagarhole / Mysore
Drive to Mysore, the Sandalwood City. A city with rich heritage with magnificent palaces, beautifully laid out gardens, imposing buildings, avenues of flowering trees and many ancient temples. The City of Mysore still retains an extraordinary charm that never fails to fascinate. Sights include the Mysore Palace, one of the largest of its kind in India – illuminated during weekends, the Art Gallery, Brindavan Gardens, etc.
Day 12: Mysore / Chennai
Transfer to the Station to take Shatabdi train to Bangalore / Chennai. On arrival transfer to Airport to fly to onward destination.
